    USAG HUMPHREYS, South Korea – Spc. Jose D. Guerra, a Human Resources Specialist (42A) in the U.S. Army, is using the SkillBridge Program to bridge the gap between his military experience and his future civilian career. Stationed in South Korea after serving in Texas, California, and Poland, Guerra has seen firsthand how valuable the military’s leadership and structure can be. Now, through the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – Far East District (FED), Guerra is preparing for a career in workforce management and leadership after his transition from the Army.

    SkillBridge Spotlight Series: 10 Questions with Staff Sgt. Hanwool Lee

    Staff Sgt. Hanwool Lee was a recent SkillBridge intern at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – Far East District (USACE FED) in the Information Management Office (IMO). For Lee, born in South Korea and raised in Southern California, there were three reasons why he joined the service: the ability to protect America, to become a citizen and for the career and education opportunities the U.S. Army provides. He now plans to apply his skills from the Army to civilian life.
  • Capt. Joel Albert Padilla, a recent SkillBridge intern at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – Far East District, previously served as the Construction Manager for the 11th Engineer Battalion. During his time in uniform, he led numerous troop construction efforts including projects at Camp Humphreys. The program offers service members the chance to gain real-world work experience as they prepare for civilian life.
