    Compact Track Loaders cut the ribbon on Osan Air Base’s new Airfield Damage Repair warehouses

    Two compact track loaders (CTLs) cleared ribbons to mark the opening of a new Airfield Damage Repair (ADR) warehouse, Osan Air Base, South Korea, on Dec. 3, 2025. Driven by Col. Ryan Ley, Commander, and Chief Master Sgt. Carl T. Vogel, Command Chief, 51st Fighter Wing, the unique start to the ceremony highlighted the mission these facilities support of rapid airfield recovery in a contingency environment.

    SkillBridge Spotlight Series: 10 Questions with Staff Sgt. Hanwool Lee

    Staff Sgt. Hanwool Lee was a recent SkillBridge intern at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – Far East District (USACE FED) in the Information Management Office (IMO). For Lee, born in South Korea and raised in Southern California, there were three reasons why he joined the service: the ability to protect America, to become a citizen and for the career and education opportunities the U.S. Army provides. He now plans to apply his skills from the Army to civilian life.

    Army engineer reenlists with his daughter at his side in South Korea

    USAG HUMPHREYS, South Korea – With his almost three-year-old daughter at his side, Staff Sgt. Cullen Ellis, quality assurance representative, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – Far East District, reaffirmed his commitment to service by signing an indefinite reenlistment contract on July 9, 2025, at Camp Henry, South Korea. Col. Jeremiah Willis, commander, USACE FED, administered the Oath of Enlistment at the ceremony.

    Rachel Napolitan Named USACE Public Affairs Officer of the Year

    Rachel Napolitan, Chief of Public Affairs for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers - Far East District (USACE FED), was named the 2024 USACE Public Affairs Officer of the Year April 25, 2025. The award is the highest individual honor within the USACE Public Affairs Community of Practice.

    USACE, K-water renew Memorandum of Understanding to continue exchanges between the two agencies

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and K-water signed a new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in an event at K-water’s Research Institute in Daejeon, South Korea, on April 16, 2025. The new agreement, signed almost ten years to the day from its predecessor, will allow for collaborative activities in the area of water resource management.

    In partnership with Public Procurement Service (PPS), United States Forces Korea (USFK) Acquisition Partners including the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – Far East District, Nonappropriated Fund (NAF) Contracting – Korea, Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Indo-Pacific and 411th Contracting Support Brigade (CSB) hosted Joint Industry Day April 9, 2025, at the Seoul Regional Public Procurement Service building in Seoul, South Korea. Over 200 potential contractors attended the event.
