“The Far East District values the unique differences of each of our employees—that is both theirs and our strength. Our unique mission here in Korea requires a diverse workforce in order to deliver on our commitments to our customers here,” remarked McGee upon signing the pledge in the USFK auditorium.

The Far East District consists of people of different shapes and sizes, in many colors, with different religions, from many cultures, speaking many different languages. Our collective actions and continued commitment to eliminating discrimination and promoting the benefits of a diverse and inclusive community ensures an enduring and positive impact among all ranks of service members, civilians, and family members.

USFK Diversity and Inclusion Officer, Lt. Col. Nic Williams, was responsible for organizing the pledge ceremony, which called to USFK leaders to pledge on behalf of their respective organizations to commit to strengthening diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts. “It takes unity of effort and individual actions for a diverse and inclusive community,” said Williams in his closing remarks. Williams stressed the importance of the actions and efforts of each individual in our daily life as well as leadership’s efforts for a diverse organization.

This event serves as the precursor to the Strength in Diversity Town Hall event, June 17. For more information, visit the USFK website at https://www.usfk.mil/Strength-in-Diversity/.
