    Far East District breaks ground on new Communications Facility at Osan Air Base

    Osan Air Base, Republic of Korea – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Far East District (FED) has begun construction on the new 51st Communications Squadron Headquarters facility with a groundbreaking ceremony, here, May 25.

    USAG HUMPHREYS, Republic of Korea — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Far East District (FED), recently turned over project SPT110A, the Army Finance and Accounting Services-Korea building, with an Acceptance Release Letter (ARL) ceremony, here, May 24.
  • U.S. military Natural Resources Management program protects species in South Korea

    Part of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers mission is to advocate for the health of the planet through programs and initiatives in climate change resilience, sustainability, and environmental justice. The Far East District environmental efforts are actively engaged in the Natural Resources Management program, to help protect certain flora and fauna in the local area.
  • Far East District brings joy to Korean orphans for Children’s Day

    USAG HUMPHREYS, Republic of Korea — U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Far East District coordinated a donation drive for Sungyook Orphanage in celebration of Children’s Day, May 5. The donation drive was FED’s second community outreach effort for the orphanage, following their previous donation during the Chuseok holiday, Sept. 13. This year, volunteers from the District came together for 54 Korean children with personalized gifts chosen by each child.
